Where are they now?

Our majors have gone on to careers in law, management, writing, editing, public relations, advertising, publishing, and library science, among other fields. From recent years:

  • Courtney Betar ('11) will be teaching English at True North Rochester Preparatory Charter School.
  • Emily Housecamp ('10) is now the Assistant Director of the Career Development Center at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

  • Audra Conway is going to Goucher College in Baltimore for an MFA in Creative Nonfiction
  • Mike Daum is at Michigan State University Law School
  • Laura Dever is going to U of R for mental health counseling
  • Leigh Graziano is studying literature at the University of Delaware
  • Erin Hurd is attending the law school at the University of the District of Columbia
  • Shanthi Karthikakeyan is attending SUNY Brockport for a Masters in History and Women and Gender Studies
  • Elizabeth Martinez is going to U of R Warner school of Education
  • Mary McLean is at Northern Illinois University for an MA in Political Science
  • Eric Parkison is going to the U of R for graduate work in English
  • Danielle Podlucky is a paralegal at the law firm Becker, Kellogg, and Berry in Washington DC
  • Vassana Praseutsinh will freelance for the D&C this year, and attend Emerson College next year for a Masters Degree
  • Alexandra Pulmieri is working at the New York State Literary Center
  • John Snyder will be Student Teaching
  • Tim Thomas will be teaching English in the City School District
  • Wendy Van Dellon is getting an MA in Rhetoric and Composition at Ohio University
  • Catherine Agar ('07) has completed a Masters in English at the U of R and will be teaching English 101 at Fisher in the fall
  • Patricia Johnson ('07) and Synthia Green ('07) are working toward MAs in Education at the University of Rochester
  • Justin Miller ('07) is a technical writer at Paychex
  • Caitlin Pfaffenbach ('07) is teaching in Teach for America
  • Meghan Prichard ('07) is living in Ithaca and writing poetry (and has sent us a sample).
  • Melissa Slocum ('07) is working for a University Press
  • Justin Thomas ('07) is teaching 9th grade at the Bolivar-Richburg central school
  • Randi Vengelen ('07) is working at Summit Federal Credit Union
  • Michelle Bopp ('05) earned an MA in Cultural Studies at Carnegie Mellon
  • Colleen DuPuy ('06) is studying Creative Writing at SUNY Brockport
  • Mark Foti ('06) is at UB Law School
  • Brittney Keith ('05) is teaching high school in the Baltimore area.
  • Mark Bowers ('01) got his MBA and an MS in International Studies from Fisher in 07, and will be teaching composition in the English Department in the fall of '08!
