Chinstrap Penguins as also known as Stone Cracker Penguins. They are sometimes called this because of their high pitched yell. Chinstrap penguins reside in Antarctica. Chinstraps very often live right on to of icebergs. They are considered to be the penguins with the most attitude because they are most likely to attack other penguins. Chinstrap Penguins are typically around 28 inches tall and they weigh between 9-14 pounds. Chinstraps live and breed in large colonies and they make their nests out of stones and pebbles. The mother penguin almost always lays 2 eggs and the mom and dad penguins share the responsibility of keeping the eggs warm. The eggs will hatch between 15-33 days later. The new chicks will not leave the nest for at least 20-30 more days, when they have feathers.
