Fisher, a world of opportunities.

Student Orientation
Welcome, new students!

Fall 2008 - Move In Day is Saturday, August 30th

More information will be made available at this website as Move In Day approaches.

Orientation is designed to help students:

  • become familiar with college and specifically Fisher
  • connect with others
  • learn about the diverse resources on campus
  • meet amazing student leaders who will help students make a positive transition to Fisher!

Orientation Team

There are 30 orientation groups based on the number of students. Each orientation group has an orientation leader and a peer advisor. Along with the Office of Campus Life, approximately 75 St. John Fisher College students work together to make orientation possible.

Orientation Leaders help with the transition into college and Fisher. This position is for students who want to be involved and help first year students, but are also busy with other things during the year.

Peer Advisor positions are more long term, they will help with orientation and then continue through the semester with helping to teach a freshman seminar course with a faculty or staff member. They will meet with you once a week during your Freshman Seminar class. They will also be trained as peer educators and will develop wellness programs that can be used in the residence halls or in classes.

Core Team Members these are 10 returning Peer Advisors or Orientation Leaders. These students help plan and run Orientation Training and New Student Orientation.
