Senior week nears

After the rest of campus leaves for summer, Fisher seniors still have one more week of fun as their college careers come to a close.

The week starts off on Monday, April 30, with the golf tournament at 8:30 a.m. at the course. There will be a drive-in movie, which will begin Monday night at 8 p.m.

“The drive-in movie will be Old School, since that is definitely a college favorite,” Sara Beth Fisher, Class of 2007 president, said.

Another new addition this year will be a Senior/Faculty Kickball Game instead of a softball game, which it had been in the past.

“We’re trying out kickball this year instead of softball, hoping that more people will compete against faculty members,” Fisher added.

The kickball game will take place on Tuesday along with Casino Night in the Campus Center. There will be a cash bar as well as hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and lots of prizes. Senior Ball will be held May 2, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Clarion Riverside Hotel. Shuttles to and from the event will be provided for students and will leave from the Haffey steps starting at 8:30 p.m.

Senior Week continues on Thursday at 5 p.m. with a picnic in the Campus Center Quad. The picnic will feature dinner, beverages, music and fun.

On May 4 the Awards Ceremony and reception for seniors will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the Cleary Family Auditorium. Senior Week concludes with the Baccalaureate Mass, also in the Cleary Auditorium, at 4:30 p.m.
