Getting ready for the Teddi Dance

The Teddi Committee is holding a fashion show in conjunction with the "Get Reddi for Teddi" event, Thursday, Jan. 25 at 9:30 p.m., to help dancers properly prepare for the 25th Annual Teddi Dance for Love.

The purpose of the fashion show is to boast the various theme hours that will take place at the 24-hour dance, Feb. 16 and 17. The aim is to give students an idea of what to bring to the Dance in order to dress up during the theme hours.

Additionally, Get Reddi for Teddi will provide an opportunity for those who have registered for the dance to pick up their free Teddi T-shirts and decorate them. Decorating supplies will be provided.

"It's a way to raise Teddi awareness and get more people excited for Teddi," junior Mary Ciesinski, Teddi Committee co-chair, said. "It's great for teams to get together and have some fun before Teddi too."

Many faculty and staff members will be sporting purchased Teddi T-shirts to showcase their support for the Teddi Dance for Love on the day of the fashion show. According to Ciesinski, the Teddi Committee has already received an overwhelming response to this from the faculty and staff.

Teddi Committee Special Events Captains Steven Tinker and Ashley Hodnett, both seniors, are responsible for organizing and running Get Reddi for Teddi this year.

Terry Clifford from WBEE will be attending this year's Teddi Dance for Love from 1 to 2 p.m., on Feb. 17. At 5 p.m.,there will be a balloon launch as a tribute to those who have died from cancer.

"We want as many people at Teddi as possible," Ciesinski said, "It's the 25th anniversary."

Students who have not yet registered for the dance may do so Jan. 25th, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., or that evening at Get Reddi for Teddi. It is possible to register online as well at http://home.sjfc.edu/teddi. The price to dance is $25 per person.
