Props and Drops

Props to the new soup and cereal bowls at Bon Appétit. We’re no longer asking, “Is it a bowl? Is it a plate?” Thanks to Jim and company for stepping it up yet again.

Props to Fisher Athletics for another amazing year. All of the school’s teams showed excellent drive and tenacity as always.

Props to campus-wide fundraisers. The Teddi Dance for Love and Relay For Life continue to do amazing work raising money for those in need.

Props to Fisher TV for another excellent year. The programming has increased and improved in quality. Great job this year. We’re looking forward to the fall.

Props to Security for catching the flasher in the library. Impeccable timing and follow through were used to keep the safety of the Fisher community intact.

Props to the SGA Shuttle increasing its days of operation. Now students without cars can get away more often when the need arises.

Props to the condition of the school’s golf course. Everything looks excellent and the course provides a nice release for students in need of a little game.

Props to the renovations to Dugan Yard. The baseball team and its fans deserve a fancy field for their usage.

Props to the Wegmans family for their immense support over the past year. The College is quickly heading toward a bright future with your help.

Props to Shakira. Thank you for the music, the culture and the hotness. Those hips may not lie but they certainly leave a lasting impression.

Props and drops to the Campus Center. Although it’s an excellent place for students to gather between classes and during leisure time, it still falls short on some key aspects. The café that students expected to be in the Campus Center still does not exist. Also, if you expect to see the stage while sitting on the right side, don’t. There’s a huge support beam in the way. Needless to say, these are things that can still be fixed hopefully sometime in the near future.

Props and drops to the decision to hold this year’s Commencement at the Blue Cross Arena. While some students are satisified that they will be graduating with their friends and classmates off-campus, others would rather split undergraduate Commencement into  two ceremonies on-campus. In addition, many students earning degrees from the graduate program would rather have a ceremony separate from the undergraduate students.

Drops to the cancellation of the hockey team’s funding. Our hockey players work way too hard to be pushed aside. Let’s hope they have better luck next year.

Drops to the inconsistant internet connection in Ward and Haffely Halls. Sometimes all a student needs is an unruly computer connection to ruin his day.

Drops to the lack of respect for our handball courts. They’re not dumpsters or storage spaces, they’re handball courts. Resect the game, yo.

Drops to the flasher in the library. Who exposes him or herself to unsuspecting victims for fun? Thank God you got arrested.

Drops to Security for parking in handicapped parking spots all over campus. Hey Security, you need a permit for that.

Drops to the elimination of green space on campus. The new schools are great but they’re taking away some of the few natural places left at Fisher.

Drops to the elimination of the Fishbowl and the start of the Haffey Café. There may be more food options but the disorganization is still a problem for students.

Drops to Keough’s paper-thin walls and horrific cell phone service. Is it not the purpose of a new residence hall to house students who want to live there?

Drops to fire drills at unnecessary times. Students are sleeping, doing homework or getting ready for class in the morning.

Drops to a severe lack of students at Dr. Bain’s Inauguration. He’s done a lot for this school and he deserves more respect.
