Department of Mathematics and Computing Sciences & Department of Psychology
The Statistics major is a collaborative program between the Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences and the Department of Psychology. The Statistics major combines the study of mathematical statistics and probability with the statistical methods used in the social sciences.

Program Director: Bruce Blaine, Psychology Department

All statistics major courses are taught by full-time faculty members of the Department of Mathematical and Computing Sciences and the Department of Psychology.

Graduates of the Statistics major:

  • Will be prepared for work doing data analysis and research in health, medical, and pharmaceutical research, educational research and evaluation, survey and market research, and other professional areas where behavioral data is analyzed.
  • Will be prepared for graduate programs in statistics and statistics-related fields.
The Statistics major leads to the B.A. degree which requires a minor area of study.
