Spotlight on Students

Paul Ilukor


Paul, a student studying Mathematics here at Fisher, was recently featured in an article published by The Democrat and Chronicle.


Candice Rockell

Candice, who currently serves as the Research Assistant to Department Chair Carol Freeman, is also a strong participant of the Math Club (former President and designer of the webpage), and has been instrumental in bringing speakers to campus and bringing the Mathematics faculty and students together.


John Schultz

John, a Senior in the Computer Science Department from North Syracuse is active on the football team while also keeping up with his studies. His future plans including finding a career one of the following: Web Design, Databases, Graphic Design, or Software Development.

Spotlight on Alumni

Laurie DeSantis

Laurie is a graduate of the Class of 2005. She was the winner of the 2005 Boris Rakover Award and graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Laurie successfully combined her studies with a family and her full time position at the Sutherland Group during her time as a student at Fisher.

"As a Database Administrator for Sutherland Global Services, I am responsible for maintenance and support of our Human Resource, Time and Labor, and Financial systems. Some of my daily tasks include creating reports, installing or upgrading software, creating nightly server processes, monitoring database servers, data migration, and restoring or creating new databases."


Bob Moline

Bob is a 1968 Graduate of St. John Fisher College with a degree in Mathematics.

Bob worked for 15 years at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) as programmer analyst, technical sales, consultant, sales support manager, information technology manager in semiconductor operations, product manager in electronic publishing, and program manager.

He was then hired as Director of Technology for the MBA Program at Harvard Business School for three years before returning to Rochester where his last two positions were as the Chief Operating Officer for Western NY Computing Systems and Vice President of Business Development for SoftSource, Inc. (software development).

Bob has also spent six years on the SJFC Alumni Board and served two years as the Board president.

Currently, Bob is the new Director of Capital Projects in the Development office here at Fisher.

"My experience and education at St. John Fisher College resulted in a 30-year career in the high Technology industry, as well as valued friendships all over the world.
The well-rounded education at SJFC was invaluable, as it was the foundation of all I do today ethically, customer-wise, and personally. The math background, combined with a heavy focus on statistics and economics turned out to be a great combination for me and would for other SJFC students."
